
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection to the homicide of Jacob Carter, a 32-year-old co-founder of a popular bagel shop in Tacoma, Washington.
The incident occurred on Jan. 5, around 1:30 a.m., in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. Carter was visiting the city with his husband when he was fatally shot at the intersection of Bourbon and Kerlerec streets.

The young suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, is currently being held in Jefferson Parish on unrelated charges. He is expected to be transferred to Orleans Parish, where he will be booked with second-degree murder.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s office confirmed Carter as the victim who was shot to death last Friday during what sources believe to have been an attempted armed robbery.
Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and have encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward.
