Today I'll be reviewing item/926658 or in words: One Piece - Trafalgar Law - Portrait of Pirates "Warriors Alliance". Or as I would call it: a figure I've been excited about for longer and harder than I'd like to admit. His prototypes looked super promising and today I'll tell you if my excitement was justified.
Obviously, this will be a picture-heavy article so beware. All pictures are un-edited except for some tweaks to brightness.
This figure of Trafalgar Law was actually my first purchase from Nin-Nin Games, which a lot of people have had bad experience with. I couldn't find him anywhere else for a reasonable price and since I'm a huge sucker for Law, I pre-ordered him there. Paid him back in November, then he got delayed in January and finally released at the end of February. Nin-Nin Games contacted me saying that I have to pay more shipping than originally estimated, so I paid the additional 17 € and a few days later he was on his way and arrived two days ago in superb packaging and excellent condition. No complaints from me!
Anyway, let's get to reviewing.
Boxes & Packaging
First things first: the box. When I opened the cardboard box and then Megahouse's cardboard box, I was surprised by the size of it. Quite big and wide, while the black and white colors with the shining gold accents makes the box look fancier than it actually is.

The inside shows Law's chest tattoo and his Jolly Roger as well as shots of the figure. Again, nothing fancy or special but it still looks pretty cool, ngl.

I didn't take pictures of the blisters, but Law as well as his sword and the base were secured super well. He comes with a small instruction sheet that explains how to put his sword into his hand and how to switch out his arms - nothing too complicated and anyone who has handled a figure before could easily figure it out on their own but its nice nevertheless.

Law comes fully assembled. The only thing you need to do is to attach Kikoku, his sword, to his hand.
Base
The base is quite bland but I honestly didn't expect much different from MegaHouse. Their One Piece figures aren't exactly known for their amazing or groundbreaking bases, unfortunately. It's an octagon with purple color and a pattern on which one can find Law's chest tattoo and his Jolly Roger once again. One special thing about the base is that it has a magnet in it that attaches to the magnet in Law's butt. Yes. He has a magnet in his butt. Jokes aside I was actually quite surprised by that since he sits quite well on his own. Despite that, his right foot lifts off of the base just a tiny bit which annoys me a little.

Unfortunately the base is quite big with its 21 cm (about 8.26 inches) height and width. I put just the base into a Detolf shelf for comparison.

I decided to not use the base as I want to display this Law with all of the other MegaHouse Laws I have. Instead, I made a little rug for him to sit on, similar to the one that comes with item/131315. I will get a different and wider glass showcase soon, so maybe I will use the base then.
Posing
I have loved Trafalgar Law ever since he was first introduced in the manga and I cannot get enough of him. While I appreciate that he has a lot of figures, I am a little annoyed that most of them are either him standing in his cool-guy pose or him slashing his sword.
This figure though? The relaxed and way too laid-back sitting pose, the cocky grin and the aggressive look in his eyes? I am gushing but my god, I was so in LOVE with this figure's prototype but seeing it permanently in the corner of my eye when I'm sitting on my PC? I would DIE for him. Literally the most perfect Law figure so far in my opinion. Doesn't help that this is one of my favorite outfits of his and that they gave him that tiny bit of teasing cleavage. I Am Crying.

Sculpting
In my opinion, MegaHouse did a fantastic job with the sculpting of this figure. Law's face looks perfect - just the way it should look imo. His limbs, fingers and feet don't look wonky or out of shape/place at all.

I adore the creases and folds of his haori and kimono but especially how his haori falls onto the ground. The way his kimono doesn't sit tight around his chest is incredibly well done and looks so realistic, especially since you can clearly see the free space between his chest and his clothes.

Law's collar bones and chest are really defined and give that area a super realistic depth and I really wanna press my face into it.

Law's fingers are an important part of his pose and they look great. I love the little detail of his wrist bending slightly.

The little crosses on his sword's sheath all have depth to them, which makes it look great. His hands that are loosely holding onto the sword look fantastic and I think the way they are sculpted/holding it so casually underlines his aforementioned laid-back attitude. Mhmm, I love the subtle display of his character so much!

Last but not least, the figure stands at about 17 cm (about 6.7 inches) from base to the top of the sword. It doesn't seem much but considering that he's sitting it is quite the height. The only other sitting figure I own is item/131315 and Law is a bit taller than her, even without the sword. So I would say he's a big 1/8 scale, maybe even closing in on 1/7.
Painting
I'm incredibly happy with the paint job and the way his skin is kept on the darker side, as Law is sometimes portrayed with light skin which really irks me.
I've drawn Law his Wano outfit before, so I can appreciate how well the pattern on his haori looks. The gold-ish paint gives it a fancy shine. Both the haori and the black kimono have a glossy finish which makes them reflect light beautifully.

The paint job of Law's face is magnificent. His goatee doesn't just look like a weird black patch as it does with a few other Law figures. The wrinkles on his nose and his trademark eye circles really give his face character. The only negative thing to me is that his eyes are gray like in the anime and I prefer his eye color in the manga but hey, I'll take as it's just nitpicking.

Law's tattoos all look clean and the lines aren't shaky at all. The font of his "DEATH" tattoos is perfect and just like the manga/anime. Kikoku's sheath is painted with a beautiful dark green gradient, which gives a shine to the usual plain black sheath.

The only painting errors I've found while inspecting and photographing the figure was a paint transfer of his circle tattoo on his alternate hand and a scrap on his pinky finger and the letter H tattooed on it. I don't mind much since I prefer his other hand but I'll see if I can fix it (or even get it replaced, but I'm doubtful).

Conclusion
I think I've gushed quite enough about him and if I haven't: I LOVE HIM. I was amazed with the finished product of item/837162 already but this Law has completely blown my expectations out of the park. I'm super happy MegaHouse is imo increasing their quality with these figures and I'm looking forward to more figures of this line especially Yamato.
Despite the score below, I'd still give him a 10/10. I can look past the base and the one painting error, but I'll still rate it as I see it.
I hope you enjoyed and thank you so much for reading! (.❛ ᴗ ❛.)
